We try to be fair by using a unique, mathematically sound Weighted Rating algorithm. This proprietary rating method continuously recalculates the Rating shown with each Software Title. The algorithm accounts for both the Number of Reviews, and the individual Rating Score provided by people like you. Finally, the resulting Weighted Rating Score is scaled to fit the range from 0 to 5 so you can see where the POS Software ranks in comparison to the other Software Titles registered with POSSoftwareReview.

Description: I am a POS Reseller and I have been selling POS software for over 15 years. I have sold 12+ different systems over the years. I have sold Retail Pro, CounterPoint, MS RMS, Quickbooks POS, and several others. The reason I chose Positive Retail Manager to sell is that it has more features than any of the other systems I have sold and it requires the least support. No software is perfect but I am still selling PRM after 5 years because I can't find anything that is better.

Description: POSitive is outstanding POS software! Inventory tracking is excellent - I mean, I can buy an item from one or a hundred vendors - POSitive knows when I bought it and for how much! I run specials and put items in a mix and match price break - that's really powerful stuff! I can run promos where if you buy a Progressive Scan DVD player you get one of my hi profit - special purchase Component Video cables that I get for like $3 (retail for $25) - for $10 (Buy X Get Y for n price) - its part of the Accessory Manager. How cool is that?

I like the line notes feature in POSitive a lot, and I like the way POSitive turns a second monitor into a Pole Display on Steroids - for about the price of a Green LED 2 line pole display. I run slide shows on it and show promotional pictures on the screen when the register isn't ringing sales. I am thinking about asking Sony to buy advertising on it! I hear that convenience stores can sell Budweiser and Coors Light an ad for $50 a week easy that runs between customers.

I've been a user of POSitive since 1994. I'd say that you should give the software a fair look - don't take my word for it - Check it out, ask questions and look at what the software does and how much time and effort it will save you.

POSitive support is excellent - I have the ability to send them a ticket if I have a question - they can answer it directly, or move it to a programmer for review. They tell me they have support people regularly testing new features and program changes. POSitive has a way to upload the last backup of my data for trouble shooting. I had an issue that they were unable to duplicate - until they had my data - set up just the way I set it up. My POS system is the central nervous system of my business. I have a support agreement I dont need help too often, but when I do its nice to know that they will be able to help me.

You know there's nothing perfect out there. I've seen a lot of software, talked to a lot of users. POSitive is a very responsive company they bring changes in the software into existence sometimes the same day. I guess its a deal where you take the good with the bad nobody likes bugs. POSitive is NOT a buggy program but if a bug is found it is fixed and the fix is available sometimes the same day.

I hope this review is helpful to you. Id recommend you give the software a good look and would recommend you buy it if it has the features you need.

Description: I disagree with the buggy comments. I find the company to be one of the most responsive on the market. ALL SOFTWARE has bugs. Even the omnipotent MS has them too. There is no getting around it. What you want is a company that can fix those bugs immediately. In my experiences with POSitive, every bug I ever reported was fixed within a day or two. I was extremely satisified with their responsiveness and the efforts in which they went through to research the bug reported.

Description: I am not sure what the other reviewers are experiencing, but my experience is quite the opposite. I have found their support to be great (yes, I paid for annual support) and the program fits my needs well. Another thing I have found, is that they have an Official release (usually about once a year) and then beta releases throughout the year. If you are running the beta release, then yes, you will probably find problems. The Official releases are very solid.

I had no problems setting up the program. The interface is one of the best I have seen, easy to get around and get work done.

I would recommend this program to anyone.

Description: I don't know if its just me, but the software is really buggy, and when I call the support or sales departments the problem is always made out to be my fault, or my computer's fault and will not help me unless I pay more money. All I know is that this is the ONLY program that I ever used that has this many bugs. I don't think that is because of me or my computer.
